The House is getting its first two Muslim women and MA is getting its first black congresswoman while Arizona and Tennessee stand to elect their first woman senators in Tuesday's midterm elections.

Democrat Rashida Tlaib has won the 13th District race for U.S. House, a seat formerly held by Rep. John Conyers Jr.

"The first thing I think about when somebody says you're going to be the first Muslim is celebrate this moment", she told CBS last week.

Born in Detroit to Palestinian-American parents, Tlaib served in Michigan's state legislature from 2008 to 2014. She will succeed the first Muslim congressman, Keith Ellison, who vacated the seat to run for Minnesota's Attorney General.

Tlaib is also considered a Democratic Socialist.

Swift had said that the Republican's voting record in Congress "appalls and terrifies" her, stating that Blackburn had voted against equal pay for women and against protecting women from domestic violence.

While she said there will be opportunities for Democrats to find compromise with President Donald Trump on some issues, such as infrastructure, she added, "there is a real opportunity for us to make that sure that we have a Congress that does its job". The 36-year-old moved to America at the age of 12 as a refugee from Somalia.

There is also a lot of evidence that she may have married her brother and therefore committed massive immigration fraud, according to PJ Media.

Omar is one of two Muslim women elected Tuesday to the U.S. House.

MA and CT will also send black women to Congress as firsts for their states, while Arizona and Tennessee are getting their first female senators.

Technically, Palestinian-American Rashida Harbi Tlaib is the first American Muslim woman to be elected to Congress.

Omar stated that President Trump's "politics of fear" motivated her to vie for the seat.
