The U.S. first lady visited Nairobi National Park to learn about steps the east African nation is taking to conserve elephants and rhinos and participated in a baby elephant feeding.

Children living at The Nest in Nairobi greeted her Friday with singing and dancing, and it didn't take long before the typically reserved USA first lady gave in to the moment.

It is Trump's first time in Africa - visiting four countries in five days - and her first solo worldwide trip as the first lady.

The final stop on her tour will be Egypt. The interview, filmed during Trump's solo trip to Africa, with ABC News will air during a 20/20 special next week.

Trump greeted two administrators as she arrived at the school with Virginia Palmer, the USA ambassador to Malawi.

According to Malawi State House official says Mrs Trump was looking forward to seeing how the U.S. can continue working together with Malawi to support a USAid programme that is focused on children's education.

"Meeting those children and understanding their different way of life is why I wanted to travel here", Mrs. Trump said later.

Trump visited a primary school in Lilongwe, Malawi on Thursday that has received assistance from the United States, the Washington Post reported.

Mrs. Trump arrived at The Nest orphanage on Friday after helping feed baby elephants, still clad in the riding trousers and tall brown boots she had worn on a safari.

Mrs. Kenyatta, I look forward to visiting your country and know that together, we will be able to do great things on behalf of children.

Melania read a story to the same group of children with applauses as another child read a story about the "lion and the mouse".

Melania spent much of her time expressing her thanks to her hosts for welcoming her.

Speaking to Quartz, Myra Gutin, a professor at Rider University in New Jersey who studies American first ladies, said she may be able to put out a "positive vibe" and engage Africans by speaking up on healthcare and education. They then watched dancers perform three traditional dances, with Malawi's first lady appearing to explain some of the words and movements to Trump.
