According to the police report, Chris Dudley, one of Kavanaugh's friends, threw a glass at a man, hitting him in the ear, which caused his right ear to bleed.

U.S. media report that the Federal Bureau of Investigation spoke with Ms Ramirez, who accuses Judge Kavanaugh of exposing his genitals to her during a college party, on Sunday.

Within moments, another Kavanaugh friend, Yale basketball star Chris Dudley, was involved, Ludington said.

Cozzolino "was bleeding from the right ear", according to the report, and he was later treated at a local hospital.

Police questioned Kavanaugh and four other men, and Kavanaugh "did not want to say" whether he threw the beer.

Ludington said in his statement he witnessed Kavanaugh throw a beer in a man's face once for making a semi-hostile remark, "starting a fight that ended with one of our mutual friends in jail".

Ludington said Kavanaugh was trying to figure out whether a man at the bar was UB40 lead singer Campbell, who would have been coming from the concert and in his 20s at the time. He was a classmate of Brett Kavanaugh's at Yale University and said he often drank with him.

On Monday, the New York Timesrevealed that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh got into a drunken brawl at a New Haven bar after a UB40 concert.

"I do not believe that the heavy drinking or even loutish behavior of an 18 or even 21 year old should condemn a person for the rest of his life", Ludington wrote. This was the hearing during which Kavanaugh tried to downplay his past drinking habits while denying the multiple sexual misconduct allegations that have been made against him.

Kavanaugh has repeatedly denied drinking to excess, in part because a history of alcohol consumption that would severely impair his judgment or lead to memory loss is central to the allegations of Dr.

A newly obtained, unredacted version of the report states Dudley "was transported to Union Ave detention facility by prisoner conveyance." and a large "A" on the report indicates Dudley was arrested, according to New Haven's police chief Anthony Campbell. There has been no indication that there were ever arrests or charges stemming from the incident.

In his statement, which the New York Times published on Saturday, Ludington said those assertions were false.

Over the New Yorker story that introduced the allegations of Deborah Ramirez, the Yale classmate who accused Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her at a party during his freshman year, Bazelon tweeted: "Family values party?"

CNN has reached out to the White House for reaction to Roche's comments.

She added in a follow-up tweet: "Those are fundamental values we try to instill in our students". Despite our living conditions, Brett and I did not socialize beyond the first few days of freshman year. I never ever saw Brett blackout. "I mean, he talked about things that happened when he drank". "But I did not drink beer to the point of blacking out and I did not sexually assault anyone", he said.
