After the company unveiled its 30th anniversary "Just Do It" campaign, featuring Colin Kaepernick, people have vocalized their support or disdain for the move.

But Woods, though he has been a Nike-sponsored athlete since turning professional in 1996, does not appear in the advert.

"I think Nike's trying to get out ahead of it and try and do something that's special. Some pretty powerful people in the spot".

The ad aired during the first commercial break in the third quarter of the Eagles-Falcons game on Thursday night.

This week, Donald Trump Jr, President Trump's son, decided to make an ad of his own and posted a doctored version of the ad on Instagram, with Kaepernick replaced by the President. Woods wasn't asked about Kaepernick kneeling during the National Anthem to protest racial discrimination, and his opinion on the ad was all that he offered.

Despite an initial drop in their stock price, Nike Inc. looks to be increasing in sales after they dropped their controversial Colin Kaepernick advertisement. "I think if the National Football League did something like Nike did - some sort of campaign, explain this whole situation, have our backs, supporting us and our First Amendment right - then this thing would've gone in a whole different direction".

Woods, the second most successful golfer ever with 14 major titles, has been careful throughout his career to avoid saying or doing anything that could be construed as political.

President Trump, a critic of protests during the anthem, tweeted Friday, "What was Nike thinking?"

The National Association of Police Organizations also called for a boycott of Nike over its support for the former Super Bowl participant, who has emphasized his opposition to police brutality, and the National Fraternal Order of Police condemned the campaign. At the end of the day, this is all about everyone being treated equally and standing up to an issue that we have in the African American male community - which is the abuse that we've taken from our justice system.
