McCourty's defensive backfield mate, safety Duron Harmon, gave a similar verbal thumbs up to Nike's Kaepernick campaign Wednesday afternoon.

The deal spurred debate among fans, with some urging a boycott of the Beaverton, Oregon-based company and others burning their Nike clothing.

College of the Ozarks, which competes in the NAIA, said it plans to remove all uniforms purchased from Nike or ones that contain the company's "swoosh" logo.

Kaepernick narrates the full spot but first physically appears midway through.

"Don't ask if your dreams are insane, ask if they're insane enough", Kaepernick said in the ad.

"Don't ask if your dreams are insane, ask if they're insane enough", Kaepernick asks at the end of the spot.

Kaepernick, a former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, has developed into one of America's most polarizing athletes the past three years because he juxtaposed social commentary with sports. It also will run online across various music, gaming and entertainment platforms, Nike said.

Nike's ad features a black-and-white close-up of Kaepernick's face and a message in white letters that serves as a clear show of support for his cause.

Kaepernick, who led the 49ers to the brink of a Super Bowl victory in 2013, has been unable to find employment with an National Football League team since being released by San Francisco in 2017.

An arbitrator has permitted his case to move forward into a courtroom. His case hinges on whether owners worked together rather than decided individually to not sign Kaepernick.

On Wednesday, Nike rolled out a two-minute ad featuring various acts of athletic heroism with Kaepernick as the video's narrator.

Eric Cantona has stood in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, who was recently revealed as the face of Nike's upcoming 30th anniversary "Just Do It" campaign. "I'm a Nike guy - I'm not the high-up Nike guy, but it was something that I thought one of the shoe apparel companies would do, and I was happy to see Nike do it".

Nike's stock price fell by almost 4% when Kaepernick first revealed he was fronting the campaign on social media.
