The Marvel character, Carol Danvers, has had a long and winding road on the way to finally becoming Captain Marvel.
Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as the eponymous hero, also known as Carol Danvers.
With Captain Marvel preceding Avengers 4, Carol will have an entire movie to establish her strength, even if she's not quite "godlike", as well as her flaws.
Larson will grace the cover of the magazine in costume, which you can preview below.
