Despite Alex Jones' constant propagation of conspiracy theories and his brash and aggressive presentation style his popularity has soared over the past decade building up a loyal fan base called Infowarriors.

The social network announced Tuesday that it would not ban Alex Jones or InfoWars from the site, noting that neither are now in violation of its rules.

WikiLeaks now fears it could be targeted next if political pressure leads to Silicon Valley censorship.

Twitter has released a statement in response to criticism that it hasn't banned anti-LGBT conspiracy theory publication InfoWars from its platform.

Infowars broke the app stores top 10 in the news category on Tuesday, edging out CNN, Fox News and The New York Times apps. "When users violate these policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts".

Apple, Google and Spotify have all taken action against InfoWars over the past few weeks over concerns about its extreme content.

Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, has defended the firm's decision to continue to publish tweets from Alex Jones. He also added that Twitter is not a "service that's constructed by our personal views that can swing in any direction".

Meanwhile, YouTube also got in on the disciplinary action, removing some of Jones' videos and suspending his capacity to broadcast live for a considerable 90-day period. "This is what serves the public conversation best".

Rather than banning people like Jones, Dorsey explained that journalists should work to refute unsubstantiated rumors, which will allow people to form their own opinions. On his show, InfoWars, he peddles conspiracy theories, ranging from claiming the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in 2012 was staged by the government to stating the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack was an "inside job".

Following his defense of Van Buren, McAdams stated that he received the following message: "you may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease". It's unclear how big his audience is now after the latest bans.
