Chelsea are ready to offer the veteran goalkeeper a one-year deal to move to Stamford Bridge with Green expected to finalise his move later this week.

Hazard has been the talisman for Chelsea over the past few seasons and was the standout performer last season as well a single-handedly winning the Blues the FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley.

Hazard also alluded towards a "preferred destination", which is widely believed to be Real Madrid.

Madrid head into the new season with an element of uncertainty, having lost both Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo, - the latter having left for Juventus earlier this month. Since then, they have been reported to be in the market for a new Galactico as they look to compensate for the Portuguese's exit, as far as tangible contribution is concerned.

Harzard's teammate and compatriot Thibaut Courtois will have a little move leg-room on the flight to Madrid, however, as he is reportedly finally on his way to the Santiago Bernabeu. But, the report by AS suggests that Los Blancos may have backed out of their pursuit of the Chelsea superstar. Gareth Bale and Marco Asnesio will likely start from the wings under Julen Lopetegeui but Willian could be an effective weapon from the bench.

But they may face some tough competition for the Brazilian's signature now that Real Madrid have entered the race to sign him.

Ultimately, Sarri must feel he is up against it already and even if the club do some more business in the next few days, it's looking increasingly unlikely that the transfer window is going to work in their favour. We've seen transfer fees reported for Hazard in the £170-£180 million range, which would make him the second most expensive player of all time.
