Brazil made it look easy against Mexico as Neymar looks to finally have found his rhythm.

Mexico manager Juan Carlos Osorio has slammed Neymar's theatrics during their 2-0 defeat to Brazil on Monday, where the Seleção's poster boy once again hit the headlines for his playacting.

The opprobrium heaped on the 26-year old has prompted a counter-reaction from fans, who, with some justification, believe Neymar is more sinned against than sinner.

The 20-second-clip features children running on a field, each dodging their own football. But Brazil's ace Neymar later stole the show by scoring a goal and an assist. "[Philippe] Coutinho, [Roberto] Firmino, [Gabriel] Jesus, Marcelo, the whole team". I just want to play and I help my team-mates, I have to help my team and that's what I am here for, nothing else.

Brazil defender Thiago Silva, meanwhile, heaped praise on Neymar, who returned to playing only shortly before the tournament following an injury layoff of more than three months. "We need players like Neymar in the game but not like this".

The world's most expensive player put Brazil in the lead after his back-heel released Willian, who then sent the ball into the penalty area.

"It is a game for tough people and not to act like a clown", said Osorio.

"It's a red card nowadays because they've spotted somebody stand on his foot, but the pain threshold of Neymar is just incredibly low I must admit".

With only two goals, Neymar is lagging well behind England star Harry Kane's tournament-leading tally of five goals.
