Eagles have good chance to beat Argentina again says Rohr

FIFA World Cup 2018: Have sex, but with your wives - Iceland players given a lesson in morality Gernot Rohr claims Super Eagles players are still growing

"On the Iceland game".

A second-half brace from Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa earned the Super Eagles their first points of the competition and earned the 23-man squad a whopping $345,000.

They will now face Argentina on Tuesday, hoping to book a place in the knockout rounds.

"It is unfortunate that we did not win, which would have served as a morale booster at the group stage, but we will not lose hope".

Musa's sweetly struck half-volley fired Nigeria into the lead just after half-time before he added a second with 15 minutes to go to make the Group D game safe.

Iceland wasted a chance to pull one back from the penalty spot, but the experienced Gylfi Sigurdsson blasted wide and over the bar.

Nigeria's forward Ahmed Musa and teammates celebrate their victory at the end of the Russian Federation 2018 World Cup Group D football match between Nigeria and Iceland at the Volgograd Arena in Volgograd on June 22, 2018. Musa deftly controlled the ball before slamming it past Iceland goalkeeper Hannes Halldorsson on the half-volley. Nigeria can advance with a draw as long as they stay ahead in goal differential if Iceland beats Croatia.

Alfred Finnbogason, who scored the equaliser against Argentina as a lone striker, was joined up front by Jon Bodvarsson and the pair quickly made an impact.

Wilfred Ndidi forced Hannes Halldorsson into a fine fingertip save with a wickedly dipping shot from distance in the 58th minute. "It will not change the plans that we have decided before this game", he said.

And though a defeat to the Albiceleste would confirm their elimination, a draw would mean they require Croatia to do them a favour against Iceland.
