The Israeli military is preparing for the possibility that many Palestinians will try to breach the Gaza border fence and enter Israel at once, report said.

The Hamas-encouraged demonstrations are ostensibly aimed to protest the decade-long Israeli-Egyptian blockade, imposed after the terror group violently seized power in Gaza in 2007, and to assert Palestinian demands for millions to "return" to lost properties in what is now Israel.

The ministry identified the protester killed on Friday as a 40-year-old man who was shot in the chest east of the southern town of Khan Younis.

The protests also took place at the contact points in different cities, including the northern entrance of Bethlehem and Ramallah. On that day, protests are timed to coincide with the planned move of the U.S. Embassy in Israel to contested Jerusalem, where Palestinians hope to establish a future capital.

In Israel the decision was warmly welcomed but it caused dismay amongst Palestinians and in many world capitals.

It said thousands of Jordanians took part in protest marches in support of Jerusalem and the Palestinian people. It says seven of the 49 protesters hit by Israeli fire Friday were in serious condition and that dozens of others were overcome by tear gas inhalation.

The latest bloody attack by Israel came only a few days after President Donald Trump announced that the USA was pulling out of the Iran nuclear accord and would enforce punishing economic sanctions against Iran.

According to the IDF, today the riots were attended by about 15 thousand Palestinian Arabs, there were five pockets of unrest on the border with the Gaza strip.

Israel has said it will prevent any border breach and has stuck to its open-fire policies, such as targeting "main instigators" and those approaching the fence, despite growing global criticism. The demonstration was held ahead of the 70th anniversary of the "Nakba", the displacement of Palestinians that began with the establishment of Israel.

Al-Quds quoted Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh telling the crowds at the border protest that "we are waiting for the great march the day after tomorrow".

The US decision to abandon the nuclear accord and recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital has made a combustible region - one with four ongoing conflicts - potentially all the more explosive, some analysts said.

Deifallah, who is unemployed like nearly half of the Gaza labor force, said he would join Monday's protest and is not afraid to die. Palestinians will mark "Nakba Day" shortly thereafter and plan on protesting the USA move. Israel is a critical ally and bulwark of U.S. imperialism in the Middle East; therefore, as the Trump administration prepares to launch war against Iran, the media is playing its dutiful role in covering up the crimes of the Israeli government.
