Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday yet again hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi overmulti-crore Rafale fighter jet deal.

Nearly three lakh BJP karyekartas or workers were present from all across Maharashtra at the event with the core team of party's Maharashtra unit including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, State President Raosaheb Danwe, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Railway Minister Piyush Goel along with other ministers and MLAs. "It is a disrespectful statement, but we don't take what Mr Amit Shah says with too much seriousness", Mr Gandhi said.

"Nirav Modi is an example, Vijay Mallya, Lalit Modi, Piyush Goyal. they are all examples", Gandhi said.

Gandhi will tour in Kolar, Chikkaballapura and Bengaluru as part of his sixth leg of poll campaign in the state, party sources said.

"You are going to see a collapse of the style you haven't seen in many years", he said, adding that the opposition will "take it over" in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab.

"Calling the entire opposition animals", he said referring to the 'Kutta-Kutti-Newla' remark of the BJP president, "See, according to Amit Shah and the basic vision of the BJP-RSS there are only two non-animals in this country: Narendra Modi and Amit Shah". "It's unusual but true that the BJP president is campaigning for Congress", he quipped. Stating that Mr Modi had a "very good" opportunity after the 2014 election, Mr Gandhi said a lot could have been done for the country.

However, this is not the first time Rahul Gandhi has attacked PM Modi over Rafale deal.

"You can't run this country as an individual, you have to run this country by listening to it, by working with it", he said.

Responding to a question, Rahul blamed the "mentality" for Modi and BJP losing track. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who was present with city Mayor R Sampath Raj, told Gandhi that Karnataka has abolished the sanitation contractors hiring sanitation workers and enhanced their salaries from Rs 7,500 to Rs 18,000. "We have to accept that and understand that. of course, there were a lot of lies, a lot of false allegations, a lot of venom spread by the BJP and the RSS".

He also said when Karnataka faced drought for the last four years, it was given less money compared to other states.
