This is the Jacob Zuma who boldly addressed crowds outside the Durban High Court minutes after his brief appearance on 16 charges related to fraud and corruption.
Judge Themba Sishi announced the adjournment that was proposed by the state and supported by the defense Friday at the High Court in Durban.
In October 2017, after a marathon legal campaign by the DA party, the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled that Zuma was liable for prosecution over nearly 800 counts of corruption relating to a 1990s arms deal.
The adviser, Schabir Shaikh, was found guilty of trying to solicit the bribes and was jailed in 2005.The case against Mr Zuma was dropped shortly before he ran for president in 2009.
The charges are politically motivated, Zuma said.
