Dolphins trading Jarvis Landry to Cleveland, per source

Domingo Copeland | 10 March, 2018, 01:47

The Dolphins gave Landry the non-exclusive franchise tag on February 20, the first day they were allowed to do so.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Friday that Cleveland agreed to trade a third-round draft pick for Taylor. Teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears have been linked to a possible trade for Landry. He also ran for 427 yards and four more scores. He a career-high nine touchdowns but finished 13 yards shy of 1,000.

As Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel noted, that means Landry will make $15.982 million next year for either the Dolphins or any team he's traded to (unless he ultimately agrees to a long-term extension).

The three-time Pro Bowl receiver signed his $16 million, one-year franchise tag Thursday, a person familiar with the situation said.

Taylor will join a quarterback group that includes DeShone Kizer coming off his rookie season and a draft choice who will probably be taken first overall.

Taylor went 22-20 in three seasons as the Bills primary starter. Last season, he threw for 2,799 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Landry typically plays slot receiver, and the Browns have been disappointed with the production of former first-round draft pick Corey Coleman, who has been injured the past two seasons.

The Cleveland Browns are not done dealing with AFC East teams.

Cleveland's offense didn't have a legitimate go-to receiver last season until Gordon returned from an indefinite National Football League suspension with five games left.

The Buffalo Bills have traded quarterback Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns.

Without enough players to spread out defenses, the Browns were too often one-dimensional, and their lack of options made life more hard for rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer.
