David Warner, Australia's vice-captain, will play in the second Test against the Proteas in Port Elizabeth after accepting his charge of breaching the International Cricket Council's code of conduct.

Captain Smith later suggested that Proteas star De Kock had "got quite personal" with Warner.

De Kock faces the same charge as Warner‚ but as a level one offence.

Lehmann said the incident had detracted from what he described as "a great game of cricket", which Australia won by 118 runs.

Whilst all of them walked off ignoring the batsmen, Warner couldn't resist a dig at De Kock, calling him a "sook".

The South African team allege Warner referenced de Kock's sister and mother during a heated exchange on the field.

"There were words said out on the field".

While Warner has accepted the level two charge from the ICC, de Kock is all set to contest the charge in a hearing later tonight in Port Elizabeth.

"As I went past de Kock, he said what he said and luckily I suppose I was there in between", the Aussie wicket keeper said. "As far as I am aware we didn't get personal toward Quinton", Smith said in the post-match press conference.

Australia's vice-captain was docked three quarters of his match fee and slapped with three demerit points, meaning he is essentially on a final warning for the next two years. "I don't know how their team manager [Mohammed Moosajee] can hear from where he's sitting, but from where I was, which was right nearby the whole time, there was nothing we said that was inappropriate".

Warner was seen on CCTV footage needing to be restrained by teammates on a stairwell as he launched a verbal volley in the direction of De Kock, who according to local media reports had responded to sledging with a comment about the opener's wife.

"We're certainly supporting David".

"When he gets the bit between the teeth he is one of the best cricketers in the world".
