White House communications director to step down

White House communications director to step down White House communications director to step down

As Business Insider's Allan Smith reported, Hicks, a 29-year-old former model, had recently been involved in multiple White House controversies.

White House communications director Hope Hicks is resigning from her post in the coming weeks, not 24 hours after her interview with the House Intelligence Committee regarding the Trump campaign's Russian Federation ties. "I will miss having her by my side". "I am sure we will work together again in the future", the president said.

It took two years for Hicks to land a fast-track public relations job in NY city after her graduation from Southern Methodist college, according to a 2016 GQ profile.

Anyway, let's play "Why now?" She had done her best in a no-win, never-ending job.

Whichever way it gets spun, the departure of Hicks will quite understandably be a blow to a man who values fealty above all else. Despite her looks and PR training, Hicks is famously camera-shy.

The White House said Hicks is a "valued adviser and counselor to the president and other senior administration officials".

In the hours before Hicks' arrival, Trump tweeted several times, quoting cable news commentators who said they hadn't seen evidence of collusion between Trump and Russian Federation. She's exhausted of the drama, understandably. She's always been so loyal to POTUS that it's hard to imagine her cutting ties from him.

She did not say what her next job would be, and her departure date was unclear, but it is likely to be in the next few weeks. She was never a political operative and never seemed entirely at ease shifting from the private sector to the White House. Companies typically don't like enigmas in important roles.

Hope Hicks, the woman in charge of crafting President Trump's message, resigned Wednesday, a day after she told Congress she sometimes told lies for him, which she described as "white lies". In a statement, she lavished praise on her boss, President Donald Trump. There she was assigned to work on a particularly high-profile account: Ivanka Trump's lifestyle brand.

C'mon. Hicks would never betray Trump. Mr. Scaramucci lasted just 10 days.

Sean Spicer served as the acting communications director - pulling double duty as White House press secretary - from Trump's inauguration until Dubke was hired in March 2017. Maybe Hicks, for reasons of her own, doesn't want to relive the 2016 campaign operation again and made a decision to bail now before POTUS gets the band back together.

Just one of several news developments Wednesday was a report from NBC that Robert Mueller's probe has begun interrogating witnesses about Trump, and whether he knew in advance about Russian hacking of Democrats' emails, and whether he helped with the strategy of their publication.

Breaking the resignation privately to her staff, the public relations consultant said "she doesn't like Washington and doesn't want to part of the system, according to a person in the room", tweeted ABC reporter Jordyn Phelps.
