Markle Bond girl role?

Diane Mills | 30 December, 2017, 03:10

"Producers had narrowed down her and four other actresses on a shortlist past year with Bond 25 in mind".

Bosses wanted a glamorous actress for the upcoming films and thought Meghan would be a ideal fit.

In their engagement interview with BBC, Meghan said that she was "transitioning" away from acting to focus on royal duties.

Meghan's family begun speaking out about the statement nearly immediately with new reports her father, Thomas Markle Snr, is "deeply hurt" by the comment.

If the stars had aligned differently, Meghan may have been following in the footsteps of former Bond girls Halle Berry, Eva Green and OlgaKurylenko.

"Meghan fits the role of a Bond girl perfectly. She's glamorous and sexy and a good actress", a source said.

And while heir-to-the-throne Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are expected to spend the night in the Scottish Highlands as they typically do, many people will be interested to know how Prince Harry will spend the occasion with his fiancée Meghan Markle.

"The brief was to find a glamorous rising star, specifically someone American or Canadian".

Producers ruled out the 36-year-old actress as a love interest for Daniel Craig in "Bond 25".

According to The Sun, the "Suits" actress caught the attention of James Bond producers for an upcoming film until her relationship with Harry became public and they figured she wasn't available.

Prior to becoming one half of one of the world's most headline-grabbing romances, Meghan was a successful actress, and had roles in movies as well as her long-running part in hit U.S. TV show Suits.

But last month The Sun revealed how she had quit showbiz altogether, telling her agent and Hollywood friends she is not interested in any further acting or other paid work following her engagement. We're sure that Prince Harry's comment wasn't meant to cause so much tension, but we can understand why the Markles are so upset. "I don't see it as giving anything up", said Meghan. "I just see it as a change".
