Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi said Saturday that the terror safe havens existed in areas of Afghanistan that were not under government control.

Spokesperson of Chinese foreign ministry also stated that China has always supported the friendly cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and their common development.

Expressing dismay over the peace situation in Afghanistan, he said a huge part was not under the control of Afghan government. However, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will be hosting the talks.

The trilateral meeting, the first of its kind, is scheduled in Beijing on Tuesday (today).

The foreign ministers of the three countries agreed at the meeting to strengthen cooperation for indiscriminate action against the menace of terrorism.

On the invitation of Chinese side, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif and foreign minister of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani will have first round talks.

Second, Afghanistan and Pakistan are willing to vigorously improve bilateral relations and agree to establish a bilateral crisis management mechanism to communicate on emergency issues in a timely and effective manner.

"So China and Pakistan are willing to look at with Afghanistan, on the basis of win-win, mutually beneficial principles, using an appropriate means to extend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Afghanistan", he added.

Pakistan rejects accusations of having ties to insurgents and cites its "unprecedented" national counterterrorism gains as its resolve against the menace of terrorism.

While the United States had failed to establish peace in Afghanistan, Asif said it was blaming Pakistan after its failure.

"In Kabul Process meeting which is going to be held in February, we will discuss what decisions need to be made", he said.

The minister further said that Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan, adding that restoration of peace in the region is our common goal.

The three countries had agreed to convene a trilateral talks during Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to the two countries in June this year.

The chairman of the Pakistani Senate, upper house of parliament, used the high-profile conference to denounce what he called U.S. President Donald Trump's policy of blaming Pakistan for failures of the United States in Afghanistan.
