Wife and mother of 47-year-old Kulbhushan Jadhav - an Indian officer captured by Pakistan on charges of espionage and terrorism in April - will meet him in Pakistan shortly after they were issued a visa on December 20 earlier this month.

However, India requested Pakistan not to arrange any such media interaction with the visiting females, as well didn't send media representatives with ‏ Kulbhushan Jadhav's family to Islamabad. The nuclear-armed countries each claim the Himalayan territory of Kashmir, and their forces regularly exchange fire there despite a 2003 cease-fire.

The Pak Military Court had sentenced Kulbhushan to death, but the matter is pending at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which already stayed his execution.

Faisal captioned this picture, tweeted out at 2:09 pm IST: "The mother and wife of Commander Jadhav sitting comfortably in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pakistan". Officials also said Jadhav's family would not interact with the media. Islam is the religion of peace and advocates mercy. "Pakistan upholds the Islamic morals and values which teach mercy, grace and compassion for all", he said.

On the question why a glass wall was put between them during the meeting, he said it was done "for security reasons". Their names have not been made public.

'Can you imagine what a mother, who last saw her son two years ago, must have felt when allowed to meet him from across a glass, ' he asked. "I am very thankful to the government of Pakistan for the humanitarian gesture", Jadhav was heard saying in the video. If Bajwa declines, he could then seek a pardon from Pakistan's president. This was the first meeting between Jadhav, who was convicted of espionage in Pakistan, and his family, since his arrest on 3 March, 2016.

He said Jadhav was carrying a fake passport when he was captured. "Jadhav is a spy and terrorist".

Jadhav gave details of his meetings with his contacts in Pakistan and exposed the network which he was handling, according to his confessional statement, obtained by The Associated Press.

India and Pakistan routinely accuse each other of harboring terrorists.
