Celtic's record-breaking 69-game unbeaten run in Scottish football came to a stunning end as the champions were thrashed by Heart of Midlothian on Sunday.
While Celtic has suffered a clutch of European defeats since Rodgers' appointment, this is the first time the former Liverpool boss has lost a match in a domestic competition during his reign at the club.
First-half goals from 16-year-old Harry Cochrane and Kyle Lafferty gave Hearts a thoroughly deserved lead at the break.
The Premiership leaders had set a new British-record unbeaten domestic streak when they reached 63 matches without defeat last month.

'Now is not the time to look back and see what we have achieved, we have to look forward and start winning again'.
"We did our very best and unfortunately for us our best wasn't good enough". In that time, Rodgers has guided the team to the league, Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup titles.
They have already retained the League Cup this term, beating Motherwell in November's final.
'I don't know what went wrong - everything, ' lamented Lustig. "It was just a case of saying remember what this feels like - that obviously hurts - but also to remind them that what they've done is absolutely incredible".
